What we want
- Original work, 1,200 words or more, written for this journal and not published elsewhere.
- Australian English, Hunter or NSW coastal knowledge, and a specific argument.
- Practical detail a homeowner or builder can use, with the limits of that advice made plain.
- A fit for one of our hubs: browse the hubs before you pitch.
What we will not take
- Thin service-area pages, spun listicles, or “top ten concreters” round-ups.
- Unsolicited finished drafts that read like a press release.
- Copy that has already run on another site, or that was written by an unnamed model.
- Anything that treats a quote as journalism.
How to pitch
Send a short note through the contact form or to support@worldwidebacklinks.com with the subject line “Pitch:” and the working title. Include a 150-word argument, why it belongs in Newcastle, three sources you would use, and a link to two pieces of your previous writing. We reply when a pitch can become a commission.
Disclosure, money and links
If you or your employer would benefit commercially from the essay, say so in the pitch. We do not sell unmarked advertorial. Any paid, affiliate or guest-post link we publish carries rel="sponsored". Promotional essays, if we ever run them, are labelled as such on the page. Our publishing support from Worldwide Backlinks is disclosed in the footer the same way.
Editing
We edit for accuracy, voice and length. We will not let a guest essay contradict Australian Standards without a caveat, and we will not let it invent a council rule. Read the editorial standards and privacy policy before you send personal information. Photos must be yours, Creative Commons, or public domain, and will be credited on the piece and on the credits page.
